# Daxeon Updates

Follow Daxeon's announcements, changelog and status updates in a channel on your server.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Available on all tiers**
{% endhint %}

Daxeon can post its own news into a channel you choose. It uses Discord's channel following, so posts come straight from the Daxeon support server's announcement channels and show up in your channel as they're published.

Nothing is followed until an admin sets it up. Daxeon never subscribes a server on its own.

### The Three Feeds

| Feed               | What it carries                         |
| ------------------ | --------------------------------------- |
| **Announcements** | Product news and new features |
| **Changelog** | Release notes for each bot release |
| **Status updates** | Outages, incidents and degraded service |

All three are on when you first pick a channel. You can turn any of them off afterwards.

***

### Before You Start

Daxeon needs the **Manage Webhooks** permission, both server-wide and in the channel you pick. Discord uses a webhook to deliver each followed feed. The invite grants this permission, so you only need to act if it was removed from Daxeon's role or overridden on that channel. Daxeon tells you which one is missing if it can't follow.

The channel can be a text channel or an announcement channel.

### Subscribe with a Command

```
/settings updates set channel: #daxeon-updates
```

This follows all three feeds into that channel. Run it again with a different channel and Daxeon moves every feed you follow to the new one.

To choose which feeds you get:

```
/settings updates disable feed: Changelog
/settings updates enable feed: Changelog
```

`enable` adds a feed to the channel you already set. If you haven't set one, run `/settings updates set` first.

### Subscribe from the Dashboard

1. Open your [server dashboard](https://daxeon.bot/dashboard) and select your server.
2. Find the **Updates Channel** setting and pick a channel.
3. Switch off any feeds you don't want.

The dashboard and the command share the same setting, so a change in one place shows in the other.

***

### Subscribe During Setup

The [`/setup`](/daxeon-knowledge-hub/command-reference/setup.md) wizard has an optional updates channel step. Pick a channel there to follow all three feeds, or skip it and set one up later. Skipping doesn't affect the rest of the wizard.

***

### Check What You Follow

```
/settings view
```

The **Updates Channel** field lists each feed and the channel it posts in. Daxeon reads this straight from Discord, so it stays accurate even if someone unfollows a feed in Discord's own settings.

{% hint style="info" %}
Discord removes role mentions from followed posts, so Daxeon updates never ping your members.
{% endhint %}
