Link Filter
Block unapproved domains and prevent malicious links in your Discord server.
Daxeon's Link Filter deletes any message containing a link to a domain you have not allowed. It stops members posting phishing sites, scam promotions, and links to untrusted content.
How Matching Works
Read this before you build an allowlist, because it decides what your entries actually cover.
Daxeon reduces every posted link to its registrable domain, meaning the last two parts of the host, and compares that against your allowlist.
Allow
daxeon.botand every subdomain comes with it. Links todocs.daxeon.botandblog.daxeon.botare allowed too.Allowlisting a subdomain on its own does nothing. An entry for
docs.daxeon.botcan never match, because Daxeon has already reduced the link todaxeon.botbefore it compares.
Always enter the two-part domain.
Turn the Filter On or Off
/chat_filters domain toggleThis flips the filter between states and takes no arguments.
Enabled - any link to a domain outside your allowlist is deleted.
Disabled - members can post links freely, unless another filter catches the message.
The fastest way to start is the Apply Safe Defaults button on the link filter step of the /setup wizard. It allowlists a curated set of trusted domains covering Discord, gif hosts and the sites members share most, then turns the filter on in the same action. Premium servers get the full list, free tier servers get a trimmed version that fits inside the 20-domain cap.
To check the current status and the size of your allowlist:
Allow a Trusted Domain
Example:
Members can then share any URL on that domain, such as https://daxeon.bot/pricing or https://daxeon.bot/dashboard.
You can paste a full URL instead of a bare domain. Daxeon strips the scheme, a leading www., and anything after the host before storing the entry.
Remove a Domain
Example:
Links to that domain are blocked again from the next message on, as long as the filter is enabled.
View All Allowed Domains
Your domains appear as a paginated list, ten per page.
Best Practices
Only allow domains you trust and expect your members to use
Allow the two-part domain, and check that you would trust every subdomain of it
Add the services your community actually relies on, such as your own site, your docs, and any tools you link to regularly
Audit your allowlist with
/chat_filters domain viewnow and thenSet a log channel so you can see what the filter is catching
Permissions
Daxeon needs View Channel and Read Message History in the channels you want filtered, Manage Messages to delete what it catches, and Send Messages with Embed Links in your log channel.
