# Commands

The two right-click checks and the two slash commands in Pocket Dax.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Public beta.** Command names, card layout and wording may change without notice.
{% endhint %}

Pocket Dax has two checks in the right-click **Apps** menu and two slash commands. Every reply is ephemeral. Only you see it, and it disappears when you dismiss it or restart Discord.

## Check User

Right-click a user or a message, open **Apps**, pick **Check User**.

The card shows the account's display name, how old the account is, and whether any Daxeon community has flagged it. Below that come the findings about the account itself, such as a name that looks like staff, lookalike letters, a default avatar or a copied server icon. The full list is on the [Findings](/daxeon-knowledge-hub/pocket-dax/findings.md#about-the-user) page.

You cannot check yourself. Pocket Dax skips bot accounts and says so.

## Check Message

Right-click a message, open **Apps**, pick **Check Message**.

Pocket Dax reads the links, invites, addresses and wording in the message and lists what it finds. It follows each link to where it lands, so a link whose text says one site but opens another shows up as a finding. Under the findings, the card lists the links, invites and addresses it saw. A second card runs Check User on the author, so you get both in one reply.

A message with no text answers "This message has no text to check." Pocket Dax does not read images or embeds.

## /help

```
/help
```

A short card listing the commands, how to reach them, and what `/connect` adds. It covers the same ground as the welcome DM, so run it if the DM never arrived.

***

## /connect

```
/connect
```

Links your server list to Pocket Dax so it can tell when a stranger is pretending to be a community you are in.

1. Run `/connect`. Pocket Dax replies with a **Connect Servers** link.
2. The link opens Discord's permission screen. Approve it.
3. You land on daxeon.bot with a confirmation. Go back to Discord. There is nothing else to set up.

The link works once and expires after ten minutes. If you see "That link didn't work.", run `/connect` again and use the new link.

### What it changes

From then on, Check User compares the account's name and avatar against the servers you are in. A match produces one of two findings, "Name resembles the `X` server you are in" or "Avatar matches the `X` server icon". Without `/connect`, Pocket Dax has no idea which servers those are and these two findings never fire.

### What it stores

Pocket Dax keeps an encrypted token that lets it ask Discord for your server list. It reads the list live during a check and does not save it.

Separately from `/connect`, Pocket Dax records which account installed it and, for each check you run, which kinds of finding fired and how long the check took. It does not store the messages you check or the people you check.

To undo it, open Discord's **User Settings**, go to **Authorized Apps**, and remove Pocket Dax. The token stops working and Pocket Dax deletes it the next time it tries to use it.
