Pocket Dax
Pocket Dax checks users and messages for scam signs in your DMs and in every server you are in.
Pocket Dax is a Discord app you add to your own account instead of a server. That means it comes with you into DMs, group chats and servers that do not run Daxeon. Right-click a user or a message, pick a check from the Apps menu, and Pocket Dax tells you what looked off and why. Only you see the result.
It is free.
Add Pocket Dax
Open daxeon.bot/pocket-dax and click Add Pocket Dax.
Discord asks you to confirm. Pocket Dax installs on your account, so no server admin is involved.
Pocket Dax sends you a welcome DM with the two commands. If your DMs are closed to apps, the DM does not arrive. The install still worked.
Right-click any user or message and open Apps. Check User and Check Message are there.
On mobile, long-press a message and tap Apps. Check User is in the message menu too, so you can check an author without opening their profile.
A server can switch off user-installed apps. If Apps is missing in one server, that is why. Pocket Dax still works in your DMs and everywhere else.
Reading a card
Every check answers with a card only you can see. A red stripe means Pocket Dax found something. A grey stripe and "Nothing stood out." means it did not. Each finding is one bold line saying what it saw and a smaller line saying why that matters.
Treat a finding as a reason to slow down. Treat a clean card as a lack of evidence. Pocket Dax has never met most people on Discord, so an account with no history and no flags gets a clean card, and that tells you little about the person behind it. The card says as much on every result.
Every finding and the exact wording it uses is on the Findings page.
Make it smarter with /connect
Scammers copy the name and icon of a server you trust and then DM you as its "support". Pocket Dax can only catch that if it knows which servers you are in. Run /connect once and it does. See Commands for what that stores and how to undo it.
Next up: the four Commands.
